SLIS offers the Master of Library and Information Science graduate degree in both physical and online formats. A joint degree with the Department of History is also offered. View the Degree list.

Certificates

Students may choose to complete a graduate certificate independently or in conjunction with the MLIS degree to demonstrate specialized expertise. View the Certificate list.

Specializations

When creating a plan of study, students may use our specializations and suggested class lists to develop a degree program that meets their interests. Any suggested classes for certificate programs may also be taken as specializations. View the MLIS Specializations list.

SLIS Mock Interviewing Workshop

Join us for the SLIS Mock Interviewing Workshop from 1-4pm on Saturday, May 19th, 2012!  This event will take place in 202 Kresge.  All students participating in this event will go through a realistic job interview with current information professionals.  In order to provide a true interview experience, students are asked to do the following: Dress professionally Arrive on time Bring a sample job posting that you would like to "interview" for (thiscould be any professional position that you would apply for) Bring a resume and cover letter written for that job Be sure to include any links to your projects or electronic portfolios SPACE is LIMITED, in order to secure a spot please RSVP. NOTE: Participation in this event is limited to current SLIS students and SLIS alumni.

New MLIS Orientation

McGregor Memorial Conference Center
The faculty, staff, student leaders, and administration will welcome new LIS students at New MLIS Student Orientation. Orientation provides preliminary information to make new students' first weeks run more smoothly and will help students learn the skills, knowledge, and processes that will aid in their continuing success as a student in the program. The orientation program will be located at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center. For parking information, please visit http://parking.wayne.edu. Please note that there is a fee for parking.
