What We Offer

SLIS offers a 36-credit Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) graduate degree with many options to specialize. The School also offers 4 pre/post Master’s certificates, a joint MLIS/MA with the Department of History and the School Library Media endorsement. View the complete Degree/Certificates List.

How Long it Takes

MLIS students can complete the degree in as little as one year or as long as six years. The average is 1 1/2 to 2 years which is typically 4 to 6 semesters.

What it Costs

Each graduate course costs about $2000. All online students pay the same tuition regardless of residency. Complete tuition details are available.

A general introduction to the School of Library and Information Science will be provided in addition to a Q&A session.  Please note:  This meeting will be conducted online.  In order to attend, please RSVP and the URL for the meeting will be emailed to you a day prior to the event.   Degrees and Certificate programs reviewed at the Information meeting include: Master of Library and Information Science (On-campus and Online) Joint MLIS and MA in History Degree Program School Library Media Specialist Endorsement Graduate Certificate in Archival Administration Graduate Certificate in Information Management (online) Graduate Certificate in Public Library Services to Children and Young Adults (online) Specialist Certificate in Library and Information Science
