Government Documents Round Table of Michigan Annual Meeting

The Government Documents Round Table of Michigan Annual Meeting will focus on disaster preparedness. Keynote speaker: Maureen Olle-LaJoie, Head of Library Technology and Circulation, Chalmer Davee Library University of Wisconsin-River Falls and former Regional Depository Librarian, Louisiana State University. Maureen will speak on her experience as the regional depository librarian for Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina. What was the disaster's effect on the library community and the Louisiana State University campus? Price: $5.00 for GoDoRT MI members and $10.00 for non members. Winter 2010 New Student Orientation

The faculty, staff, student leaders, and administration will welcome new LIS students at New MLIS Student Orientation on Thursday, December 3. Orientation provides preliminary information to make new students' first weeks run more smoothly and will help students learn the skills, knowledge, and processes that will aid in their continuing success as a student in the program. SLA@WSU tour of the John King Rare Collection

All SLIS students are invited to join the Special Libraries Association for a tour of the rare collection at John K. King Used & Rare Books. In business since 1965, King gives credit for his success to his high school guidance counselor who encouraged his passion for the used books and antiques trade.
