- December 3 2009 at 9:00 AMMcGregor Memorial Conference CenterThe faculty, staff, student leaders, and administration will welcome new LIS students at New MLIS Student Orientation on Thursday, December 3. Orientation provides preliminary information to make new students' first weeks run more smoothly and will help students learn the skills, knowledge, and processes that will aid in their continuing success as a student in the program. The orientation program will be located at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center. For parking information, please visit http://parking.wayne.edu. Please note that there is a fee for parking. - Interviewing Techniques Workshop for SLIS Students and Alumni
- December 5 2009 at 11:00 AMCommunity Room, 3rd Floor, Undergraduate LibraryThe key to a successful interview is to understand what you have to offer and to effectively communicate your skills and achievements to potential employers. Led by SLIS Adjunct Faculty Member and Career Advisor Kim Schroeder, this workshop will provide tips for current students and graduates on how to best prepare for an interview. A Q&A session will follow. The interviewing workshop will take place on Saturday, December 5 at 11:00 AM in the Community Room on the third floor of the Undergraduate Library.
