Stephen Bajjaly

Stephen Bajjaly joined the Library and Information Science Program as Director in August 2007. Bajjaly oversees the strategic direction of the program, leads its efforts to enhance teaching, scholarship and service, and directs the day-to-day operations.
Before coming to Wayne State, Bajjaly spent 14 years on the faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Library and Information Science where he taught information technology, web design and organizational management courses. He was the founding project director for MidNet, the local, nonprofit community network sponsored by the School. He served as Chair of the University’s Graduate Council, president of the South Carolina chapter of the Special Libraries Association, and was a board member of the South Carolina Association for Educational Technology.
Bajjaly is the author of numerous journal articles and The Community Networking Handbook. His research interests include community informatics and the management of emerging information technologies.
